Ayrshire Coastal Path
The Ayrshire Coastal Path is a 161 km waymarked route along the Firth of Clyde coast from Glenapp in the south to Skelmorlie in the north — passing Culzean Castle, Arran views, Burns Country and the resort towns of the Ayrshire coast.
About Ayrshire Coastal Path
The Ayrshire Coastal Path follows the Firth of Clyde shore through one of Scotland's most varied coastal landscapes. The southern section passes Culzean Castle (perched on dramatic sea cliffs), the wide sands of Ayr, and Burns Country around Alloway. The northern section becomes more suburban approaching the Glasgow commuter belt.
For trail runners it is a two to three day challenge on well-maintained coastal paths, promenades and farm tracks. The southern half is more scenic; the northern section is more accessible. The constant views to Arran and the Mull of Kintyre are the backdrop throughout.
