What we collect
When you create an account we store your email address. That's it — no name required.
When you submit content (condition reports, reviews, photos) we store that content alongside your user ID.
When you download a GPX file we do not log your identity. Downloads are anonymous.
How we use it
Your email is used only to send magic-link sign-in emails. We do not send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.
Community content (reviews, reports, photos) is displayed publicly on the relevant route page once moderated.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. It is strictly necessary, so it is always on.
We also use Google Analytics 4 to understand which routes and pages people use, which sets _ga cookies that last up to two years. These are only set if you accept them on the cookie banner — until then Google Analytics is not loaded at all. No advertising cookies are used, and we do not share analytics data with Google for advertising.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer. Choosing to reject deletes the analytics cookies already on your device. We ask again after twelve months.
Third parties
- Supabase — database and authentication (EU region)
- Vercel — hosting and CDN
- MapTiler — map tiles (your IP may be sent when the map loads)
- Google Analytics 4 — page and route analytics, only after you accept cookies
Affiliate links
Route pages may include affiliate links to gear. Clicking these links may set cookies on the retailer's site. We disclose all affiliate relationships.
Your rights
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing hello@trailrunningplanet.com.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data.
