How Challenges are different from Routes

Every route on this site carries a verification state — run by us, run by a contributor, or checked from the GPX file — so you can see how thoroughly it's been checked. Challenges are bigger — some take a week, some need a support team — so we can't run all of them ourselves. What we do instead: check every fact against official sources, verify distance and ascent against real GPS data, and flag clearly on each page whether it's something we've completed, researched, or still building out. Look for the note on each page — it tells you exactly where a challenge stands.
