What you’re in for
Twenty-seven miles from Henley-in-Arden out to Coughton Court and Studley and back through Spernall and Bannams woods, or twenty if you turn early. A rolling start and eleven hours, in late September. An LDWA challenge event, which means walkers and runners together, a route description to navigate by rather than tape, checkpoints with food and drink, and a meal at the end. Entry is through the LDWA's own system, places are limited, and the ones in this list tend to fill early.
Terrain and trail
Warwickshire field path, farm track and woodland — soft going after rain, easy the rest of the time, and flat enough that the distance is the whole challenge. Road shoes with tread or a light trail shoe.
