About this route

A 50km expedition from Malham over Malham Cove and Tarn, across Fountains Fell and up Pen-y-ghent, following the Pennine Way deep into the Dales and back.

Hazards & notes

At 50km this is a committing, remote outing with no resupply once you leave Malham. Open mine shafts scar Fountains Fell, the moorland is exposed to weather, and navigation is serious in cloud.
