What you’re in for
A tough half marathon or a 10K through Glentress Forest above Peebles in November, on trails better known for mountain biking. The 10K is 9.7km with 352m of climb; the half is 20.5km with 813m, which is a hill race by any measure. Marked.
Terrain and trail
Forest road and mountain-bike single-track — bermed, rooty and steep — climbing hard through the forest to the open top and back. Wet and slippery in November. A trail shoe with grip.
