What you’re in for
Thirty-two miles round the edges of the Yorkshire Wolds from Driffield showground in early April, with twelve hours, and social runners and walkers both welcome. There is no fifty-mile option in 2027. An LDWA challenge event, which means walkers and runners together, a route description to navigate by rather than tape, checkpoints with food and drink, and a meal at the end. Entry is through the LDWA's own system, places are limited, and the ones in this list tend to fill early.
Terrain and trail
Chalk: the dry valleys and grassy dale-sides of the Wolds, firm farm track on the tops, field path and lane between, and the odd steep pull out of a dale. Quick going by April. A road shoe with tread or a light trail shoe.
