LDWA Essex & Herts
The Essex & Herts local group of the Long Distance Walkers Association. LDWA challenge events are walkers' events that welcome runners: you follow a written route description between checkpoints with food and drink, there is a time limit generous enough for a steady walk, and you get a certificate at the end. Entry is cheap, members pay less, and most events fill.

A new figure-of-eight from Blackmore village hall: a fifteen-mile loop by Mill Green and Highwood, then eleven more by Wyatts Green and Fryerning for the twenty-six, or a three-mile loop for the eighteen.

Twenty-five miles north from Stansted Mountfitchet across the Stort at Manuden and out to Braughing in a punctured figure of eight. Nine hours, three checkpoints, twenty-fifth running.
