Run Nation

Run Nation is a Newcastle-based race company that runs road and multi-terrain races from 5K to marathon across the UK. Many are in the North East and Cumbria, under brands such as Run Durham, Run Northumberland, Run Yorkshire, Run Nottinghamshire and Run Scotland. Most of the calendar is road racing or laps of city parks, but a few races go into forest and estate parkland: Hamsterley Forest in County Durham, Sherwood Pines in Nottinghamshire, and Hulne Park beside Alnwick Castle. Races are measured, licensed under UK Athletics rules and chip timed by Timing4Sport. Affiliated runners pay a little less, and you enter through Run Nation's own site. Expect a mass-participation format: mile or kilometre markers, water stations, medals for everyone, and age-group and club team prizes.
