What you’re in for

Both races start and finish at the Nest car park, about halfway along the Forest Drive in Hamsterley Forest, between Teesdale and Weardale. The 10 miler is one big loop, with steady climbing through the first half before it turns for home. The 5 miler goes out and back, climbing towards the turn and then returning mostly downhill. Both are on forest roads and multi-terrain tracks with no traffic, and the organiser calls them hilly. The races are chip timed, with mile markers and water about every three miles. Entry includes a discount code for the Forest Drive toll. Registration runs 09:30-10:45 at the race HQ, and entries on the day are allowed if places remain. The minimum age is 17 for the 10 miler and 15 for the 5 miler.
