About this route
A 30.6km loop from Staveley over the Garburn Pass to Troutbeck and back through Kentmere and Ings. Around 840m of climbing on classic Lakeland bridleway, with the old pass at its heart.
Hazards & notes
The Kentmere descent off the pass is steep and boulder-strewn, tricky on tired legs, and the pass itself is exposed to weather. Rough bridleway holds water and loose stone after rain.
Emergency
Call 999 or 112 → ask for Police → request Mountain Rescue. Register Emergency SMS: text "register" to 999.
