Rory Macpherson Ltd (G3 Run Series and The Hurt)

Rory Macpherson, a Surrey Hills local from the Shere and Dorking area, organises trail races near Guildford through his company Rory Macpherson Ltd. With co-founder Toby Jenkins he has run the G3 Series since 2004: three winter trail races over 10km or 15km from Newlands Corner and Houndhouse Road, sponsored by the Guildford shop Fitstuff. He also puts on The Hurt, a tougher autumn race in the Hurtwood forest on the Greensand Ridge. The races are small, chip-timed and early, with 08:00 or 08:30 starts and free parking, and the routes are almost entirely off-road with plenty of mud and steep banks. G3 has a 300-runner limit and often sells out. Entry is through RiderHQ.
