What you’re in for
Twenty-six, eighteen or twelve miles of field paths, tracks and woods through the Bedfordshire hills from Barton-le-Clay, with a start window and checkpoint times to plan around. Ten and a half hours, mid-November. Part of the group's triple challenge. An LDWA challenge event, which means walkers and runners together, a route description to navigate by rather than tape, checkpoints with food and drink, and a meal at the end. Entry is through the LDWA's own system, places are limited, and the ones in this list tend to fill early.
Terrain and trail
Chalk downland on the Barton Hills, then clay field path and woodland — the first is firm, the second is November mud. A trail shoe.
