What you’re in for
Fifty miles in two loops from Crowcombe village hall — one into the Brendon Hills, one onto the Quantocks — with twenty-four hours to do it. A qualifier for the 2027 Jurassic Hundred, and already full. October. An LDWA challenge event, which means walkers and runners together, a route description to navigate by rather than tape, checkpoints with food and drink, and a meal at the end. Entry is through the LDWA's own system, places are limited, and the ones in this list tend to fill early.
Terrain and trail
Hill track, combe path and open heath on the Quantocks, forest and farmland in the Brendons; steep in short pieces, muddy in the combes, and a night section for most. A trail shoe with grip and a head torch.
