The course

What you’re in for

After six years off, Beacon to Beach returns under Channel Events. It is a 10.3km point-to-point run from the top of Selworthy Beacon, down technical trails, woodland paths and long descents to a sand finish on Minehead beach. A youth relay of five legs runs the same route. The course is waymarked with black-on-yellow arrows and yellow flags. Registration is at the Adventure Centre in Minehead from 07:45 to 08:15, and runners are then taken by bus to the start for 10:00. It is part of the West Somerset Running Festival, alongside Steaming to the Coast the day before. Adults must be 16 or over, and medals are optional.
