What you’re in for
Twenty-four miles from Kilburn round the western edge of the North York Moors: Oldstead, Cold Kirby, Hawnby, High Paradise, Boltby, Gormire, Sutton Bank and the White Horse. Ten hours, two hundred places, usually full by October. Early November. An LDWA challenge event, which means walkers and runners together, a route description to navigate by rather than tape, checkpoints with food and drink, and a meal at the end. Entry is through the LDWA's own system, places are limited, and the ones in this list tend to fill early.
Terrain and trail
Escarpment edge, forest track, moor and dale — with the climbs up onto the Hambleton Hills and the White Horse steps the steep bits. November mud in the forest. A trail shoe.
