What you’re in for
Twenty-five miles of White Peak dales from Biggin: Biggin, Wolfscote and Beresford Dales to Hartington, Monyash, Lathkill and Bradford Dales, and Long Dale home. Ten hours, three checkpoints closing at 10:30, 14:00 and 15:30. Two hundred places. Early November. An LDWA challenge event, which means walkers and runners together, a route description to navigate by rather than tape, checkpoints with food and drink, and a meal at the end. Entry is through the LDWA's own system, places are limited, and the ones in this list tend to fill early.
Terrain and trail
Limestone dale-bottom path, riverside and the walled field paths of the White Peak between — firm and fast on the limestone, muddy on the plateau in November. A trail shoe.
