Go Beyond Events
Northamptonshire
Go Beyond Challenge, trading as Go Beyond Events, started in 2008 and has been owned since 2018 by Simon Hollis, a former infantry soldier and ultra runner. It is based in Northamptonshire and runs a small set of long-established ultras: the Thames Trail Ultra (formerly the Thames Trot), Country to Capital, the Rose of the Shires and the multi-distance Shires and Spires around Naseby. Most Go Beyond routes are waymarked rights of way rather than flagged courses. Every runner carries a GeoTracks GPS tracker that doubles as a navigation aid, so expect to follow the route yourself. Checkpoints are known for Go Beyond fruit cake, the ultras have mandatory kit lists, and charity places are offered on several races.
