What you’re in for
A 47-mile point-to-point along the Thames Path, with a stretch on the Ridgeway, from Iffley on the south side of Oxford to the YMCA Y Centre in Henley-on-Thames. It used to be called the Thames Trot. About 86% is riverside path and trail, and it is almost flat (around 290m of climbing), but in a wet October the towpath can be very muddy. The start is 08:15 with an 11.5-hour cut-off and progressive cut-offs from checkpoint 3. There are five aid stations, baggage goes to the finish, and every runner carries a GPS tracker. Navigation is your responsibility. A long mandatory kit list is spot-checked at registration. A shuttle runs from Oxford station to the start.
