Run & Ride is a bike and running shop near Stafford, on the edge of Cannock Chase. Under the Mayer Active banner it also organises events, mostly mountain bike races plus a few trail runs. The best known running event is the Scott Sports Dirty Dozen, a 12km trail race on Cannock Chase, now in its fourteenth year. Others are the Merrell Cannock Chase Challenge (10km, half and full trail marathon) and a 10km trail race at Newcastleton in the Scottish Borders. The Cannock Chase races start from Tackeroo campsite and use lesser-known singletrack and forest trails, laid out as a figure of eight so spectators can see runners several times. Race numbers are collected on the day, there are usually no cut-offs, and camping is available. Entries go through their Eventrac pages, with changes handled by email to the shop.
