No reviews of the Andover Trail Marathon, and nothing on what people wore. Both are things no organiser publishes and every runner wants before they enter — how it actually went, and what was on your feet.

What you’re in for

The organiser's original and most popular race. It starts from Upper Enham, north of Andover, and follows the Test Way up to Combe Gibbet, the highest point in Hampshire, then comes back through the Conholt estate and its villages. The half loops out to Hurstbourne Tarrant, the 50km adds a section through Oxenwood on the Pewsey Vale Circular, and the 10km goes round Doles Wood and nearby farms. The ground is chalk paths, grassy tracks and runnable descents, with short climbs that add up over the day. The course is marked the day before, main road crossings are marshalled and the race is chip-timed. There is also a team Military Cup for serving personnel.
