What you’re in for
Starts on the beach at Knoll Beach, Studland, then follows the South West Coast Path past Old Harry Rocks and along the Purbeck ridge to Corfe Castle. The 25km turns at Corfe and comes back, with 556m of ascent. The 50km carries on to Grange Hill before returning, with 922m. The ground is sand, chalk downland and uneven trail with several gates, and the minor road crossings are not marshalled. The course is fully marked, but you must carry the GPX on a phone or watch, plus a phone, foil blanket and cup, with more kit required for the 50km. There are five aid stations on the 50km and three on the 25km. HQ and the finish are at the Knoll House Hotel. 'The Ferry' is a runner who starts at the back of the 50km field, and you win a small prize if you finish ahead of him.
