Great Owl Running

Great Owl Running is a Leeds race organiser run by race director Adam, who started it to put on races on his favourite local trails. The calendar runs through the year: a winter series of short trail races (the Holly Hustle in Meanwood, the Kirkstall Calverley Cutter and The Billing at Rawdon), two FRA fell races on Otley Chevin, the North Leeds Skyline and Ilkley Skyline in summer, and long-distance events on the Leeds Country Way, including a two-day winter ultra and a 100km in a day. Races are deliberately low-cost and cupless: bring your own bottle, and medals and T-shirts are optional extras rather than part of the fee, with a Trees not Tees donation offered instead. Courses range from fully marked to self-navigated, so check each race's navigation note.
