What you’re in for

A January race from the Kirkstall Bridge Inn with two options. The Calverley Cutter is about 16km on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath, riverside paths by the Aire and public footpaths, with the steep Calverley Cutting giving most of its 200m or so of climbing. The Kirkstall Bridge 10km is a flat out-and-back on the canal towpath with about 60m of ascent, suited to any runner. Both start together near the pub. The course is fully marked, with marshals at key points. Cutter runners must carry a windproof or waterproof jacket, and the event is cupless apart from cups at the 10km turnaround. Flood works on the Aire may force a diversion.
