What you’re in for
Twenty-two miles from Holdgate church over Abdon Burf — the top of Brown Clee — to Clee St Margaret, across Corvedale to Wenlock Edge and back, or ten miles over the Burf. Cake at every checkpoint, hot dogs at the finish, 160 places, ten hours. Late April. An LDWA challenge event, which means walkers and runners together, a route description to navigate by rather than tape, checkpoints with food and drink, and a meal at the end. Entry is through the LDWA's own system, places are limited, and the ones in this list tend to fill early.
Terrain and trail
Field path and lane in Corvedale, the steep grassy and heathery climb of Brown Clee, and the wooded limestone escarpment of Wenlock Edge. Muddy in the fields in April. A trail shoe.
