What you’re in for
The Saturday of the Blair Castle Trail Weekender holds the two long races, both starting and finishing in the castle grounds at Blair Atholl. The Full Tilt Ultra (58km, about 2,026m of climb) takes in Glen Tilt, the Blairuachdair forests and two Munros, Carn a' Chlamain and Beinn Dearg, with three feed stations, a 4.5-hour cut-off at 28.8km and a 10-hour overall limit. Dearg Up n' Doon (32km, 1,000m) climbs past the Allt Sheicheachan bothy with wide views to the Cairngorms and has a 6-hour limit. Both courses are marked, but you carry full waterproofs, a bivvy bag and spare layers, and a map and compass are recommended. Entry includes festival access, with camping on site.
