No reviews of the Radyr Trail Races, and nothing on what people wore. Both are things no organiser publishes and every runner wants before they enter — how it actually went, and what was on your feet.

What you’re in for

From Cardiff Harlequins' ground at Radyr, the half marathon crosses the Taff, climbs through farmland and woods to Coed-y-Bedw nature reserve and up Garth Mountain, then drops to Taff's Well and runs through Castell Coch woods before a flat finish past the Glamorganshire Canal. The marathon (about 1,300m of climb) adds three loops: out to Creigiau and an old railway line, round Craig yr Allt towards Caerphilly, and through the bluebell woods of the Wenallt. The half is marked with two checkpoints; the marathon sections away from it are unmarked and need navigation, with maps and a GPX supplied. Radyr station is five minutes' walk away, and there are showers at the venue.
