What you’re in for
Part of the GORUCK Epic Trail Series, held on the Ashton Court Estate on Bristol's western edge. Routes of 6k, 10k and 21k use the estate's woodland and parkland tracks, with plenty of up and down. Each distance can be run as a trail run or done as a ruck, carrying a weighted pack. There are four categories. Pro Trail and Pro Ruck are raced, with age groups and prizes for the top three men and women; Open Trail and Open Ruck are untimed. Rucks are provided on the day. Heats usually start between 11:00 and 11:30, with exact times in the athlete pack sent out race week. There's a bag drop, toilets, food vendors and one or two water stations, and finishers get a medal or patch.
