What you’re in for
The summer Green Man Ultra uses the same Community Forest Path loop round Bristol as the winter race, but runs it clockwise and usually on firmer, faster ground. The GMU45 does the full loop from Ashton Park School (945m of climbing). The shorter GMU30 (listed as 29 miles, 810m) starts at the White Horse in Hambrook and shares the finish at the school. The course is self-navigated, with GPX files, written directions and Time Lord pacers. There are four checkpoints, a 12-hour limit for the 45 and 9 hours for the shorter race, chip timing, and live tracking from 2027. It is cup-free and entrants must be 20 or over. Finishing both the winter and summer 45 in the same year earns a GMU buckle.
