What you’re in for
The winter edition of the Green Man Ultra runs anti-clockwise around Bristol on the Community Forest Path, through woodland, farmland and river valleys on the edge of the city. The GMU45 is the full 45-mile loop (945m of climbing) from Ashton Park School. The GMU30, known as the Green Boy, starts at checkpoint two in Keynsham and shares the finish. Expect mud in March. The course is self-navigated using GPX and route notes, and Time Lord pacers run to 9-12 hour targets. There are four checkpoints, chip timing, a 12-hour cut-off for the 45 (9 hours for the 30) and hot food at the finish. Kit includes a head torch, map and compass or GPS, plus your own cup. Entrants must be 20 or over.
