What you’re in for
Day three of the MTC Thames Challenge, also run as a standalone race. It starts outside the Catherine Wheel in Henley and follows the Thames Path past Marlow, Cookham Moor, Maidenhead and Dorney, then by Eton and Windsor Castle to Runnymede, Staines and Shepperton. It finishes at the Travelodge in Kingston. The running is flat on riverside path and meadow, with short town sections. The course is not marked, so use the GPX or the organiser's directions and maps. There are three checkpoints, a 4 mph minimum pace and a finish cut-off of just under 12 hours. The start and finish are on busy streets with no arch, and both are close to railway stations.
