What you’re in for
All three distances are run entirely on Pendine Sands in Carmarthenshire, the long, firm beach once used for land speed record attempts. The course is a 3.28-mile (5.28km) out-and-back: the 5k turns at 2.5km, the 10k does one full out-and-back (about 10.5km) and the half does two. Distance flags mark every quarter mile. Much of the beach is MOD land that is normally closed to the public. Start times depend on the tides and are confirmed nearer the day (in 2026 the half went at 12:30, the 5k at 12:40 and the 10k at 12:50). The time limit is four hours and walkers are welcome. Registration is next to Barnacles Cafe, with pay and display parking. The water stations are self-serve and cup-free, so bring a cup.
