What you’re in for

Wave-start trail races from Warren Farm at the top of Cheddar Gorge. All routes take in the gorge cliff-top path and the climb of the Hell Steps; the half adds a loop out to Beacon Batch, the highest point of the Mendip Hills, and the marathon is two laps of the half. Expect rocky tracks, meadows, a boggy stretch, stream crossings and old lead-mining walls to clamber over, with roughly 600m of climb per half-marathon lap. Courses are fully signed and marshalled with frequent food stations. Parking is in a farm field (cash charge) and there is on-site camping. Marathon runners must start lap two within three hours. Half and marathon are UTMB Index races.
