The course
What you’re in for
A half marathon from Longcraigs Scout Hall in South Queensferry, about a mile from Dalmeny station. The route loops through Dalmeny Estate and Cammo Nature Reserve on woodland trails, riverside paths and farm tracks. The climbing comes in a few short, sharp rises adding up to under 1,000ft, and past runners mention a set of stairs. The route is marked and marshalled, with first aiders out on the course. Registration is on the morning at the Scout Hall, which also has toilets and bag drop; park in the town. It is chip-timed, every finisher gets a medal, and there is a hot buffet at the end. Runners must be 17 or over, and the field is capped at about 400.
