What you’re in for
A 90km point-to-point run on the Fife Pilgrim Way from North Queensferry to the gates of St Andrews Cathedral. It goes through Dunfermline, Lochore Meadows, Markinch, Kennoway and Ceres, with 1,200m of climbing. Roughly two thirds is off-road on paths, field edges and farm tracks, and the rest is pavement and lanes. Expect mud after wet weather. The route is waymarked with Pilgrim Way stickers plus extra arrows, but you are expected to carry it on a device. There are checkpoints with hot food, three drop-bag points and GPS tracking. The overall limit is 15 hours, with intermediate cut-offs at Markinch and Ceres. A support runner may join from Ceres, and a shuttle bus returns runners to the start. Entry requires a recent marathon or 50K.
