Askham, Cumbria
A Cumbrian outfit that teaches mountain navigation and safety for a living, and runs a handful of low-key events out of Askham and Pooley Bridge on the eastern edge of the Lake District. Their calendar runs from a signposted thirteen mile daffodil run anyone can walk, through the waymarked Ullswater Way, to the Tour de Helvellyn and the Lakes Mountain 40 — unmarked winter and mountain routes where they issue grid references and nothing else. They are unusually clear about which is which, which is the whole point of them.
