What you’re in for
A November race from Talybont-on-Usk in the Brecon Beacons, with three distances. All start along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal towpath, then climb over Tor y Foel into Talybont forest. The marathon and ultra continue up the old tramroad and the Gap Road to Cribyn and Pen y Fan (886m), then descend via Cwmcynwyn back to the canal. The ultra runs a second lap without the Pen y Fan out-and-back. Routes are marked, but you must carry a printed map. The ultra starts at 7:30, the marathon at 8:30 and the half at 9:30. Fields are capped at 150, 150 and 250. Results count for ITRA and the UTMB Index. Expect anything from sun to sub-zero.
