What you’re in for
The Beacons Way from Llangynidr to Llangadog, sixty-two miles taking in Pen y Fan and the Carmarthen Fans, with 3,178 m of ascent. Map reading is expected, not optional. OS Explorer OL12 Active, Harvey XT25 West or the Beacons Way Ultra map, and an actual compass rather than one on a phone or watch. Six checkpoints from Talybont to Mountain View, twenty-four hours.
