What you’re in for
Night races from Wooler Hostel into the northern Cheviot foothills. The 10K climbs up and around Humbleton Hill fort and can be walked or run; the half marathon goes on from Humbleton to Yeavering Bell, the largest hillfort in England, before returning to Wooler. Expect steep grassy hill ground and real climbing for the distance: about 890m on the half and 480m on the 10K. The route is flagged and marshalled, and a head torch and waterproof are mandatory. Registration is at Wooler Hostel with parking at the long-stay car park on Ryecroft Way. Limits are 4 hours for the half and 3 hours for the 10K.
