Trail Outlaws

Trail Outlaws is a North East trail-race company started by Tim Bateson, who set it up so local runners would not have to travel across the country for good trail races. Its calendar runs from 5K urban trail races in Sunderland, Washington and Durham to the Durham coast, the Cheviot Hills around Wooler, night races at Kielder under the Dark Sky Park, and the St Cuthbert's Way ultra from Melrose to Holy Island. Courses are marked and marshalled, entry includes a medal and free event photography, and there are age-category prizes. The hill races at Wooler and in the Cheviots carry full mandatory kit including map and compass, and the night races need a head torch. Entries go through Trail Outlaws' Eventrac pages, and the Urban Trail Series can be bought as a season ticket.
