The course
What you’re in for
A five-day stage race along the Severn from its source on Plynlimon to the estuary at Severn Beach, about 220 miles including the climb to the source. The stages are the Hafren (to Caersws), Severn Plod (to Shrewsbury), Severn Path (to Worcester), Severn Way (to Stonehouse) and Bristol Severn (to Severn Beach). Each is also a race on its own. It runs in February, mostly on the Severn Way, where paths can be overgrown and signs hidden, so GPX navigation is strongly advised. The organiser puts the finish rate at around 25%. Entry includes shared hotel rooms, evening meals, a basic breakfast and a daily bag transfer.
