What you’re in for
A half marathon and a 10K from the show field at Malham on the first Saturday in September, through Malham Cove and past Malham Tarn, with the half climbing on to Weets Top for a long descent home with the view all the way. The half starts at ten and the 10K at half past, the course is partially waymarked, and the kit list is a waterproof, a bottle and a phone with a location app. Seventeen and over. The last of the Due North trilogy.
Terrain and trail
Limestone: the pavement on top of the Cove, stony track and grassy field to the Tarn, moorland path over Weets Top, and the walled lanes back into the village. Firm and fast in September, with the limestone slippery when wet. A trail shoe.
