What you’re in for

The Crossing runs 33.5 miles south across the high moor, from Belstone on north Dartmoor through Postbridge and Bellever to the finish at Ivybridge Rugby Club. It has 1,119m of ascent and 1,516m of descent. The organiser calls it an introduction to ultra distance, though there is a long stretch with no food between Eylesbarrow and Leftlake, and the first aid station is 11 miles in. The course is fully marked. Registration is at the finish, and a paid coach takes runners to the start. The race starts at 09:00 and has a 9.5-hour limit, with rolling cut-offs at Postbridge, Whiteworks, Eylesbarrow and Leftlake. Camping and food are available at the rugby club. The minimum age is 20.
