What you’re in for
These are three races from Mothecombe on the private Flete Estate in the South Hams. The long marathon (almost 29 miles) runs the South West Coast Path on both sides of the Erme, crosses the causeway to Burgh Island, and has to beat the tide at the Wonwell estuary crossing. The 15-mile half combines woodland and estuary trails with a coast-path finish and about 613m of climb. The 8.5-mile Watery Woodland Trail keeps mostly to the estate's woods. The tide sets the timings: the marathon starts at 10:45 and the two shorter races at 13:00, and the organiser warns that start times may move by up to 30 minutes. All three are chip-timed. Minimum ages are 20, 18 and 17.
