What you’re in for

The Great Escape covers the last 15.5 miles of The Crossing. It starts in Princetown and follows the Abbot's Way across remote southern moorland and the head of the Erme valley before a long descent into Ivybridge. It is mostly downhill but has some short technical climbs, and there is no food or water for about 9 miles between Eylesbarrow and Leftlake. The course is fully marked and marshalled, with two drink and refuelling stops and a 4.5-hour limit. Registration is at Ivybridge Rugby Club, the finish, and a coach to the start can be booked. There is no bag transfer on this race. The minimum age is 17.
