What you’re in for
The ultra starts at Hanslope village hall near Milton Keynes and follows the Three Shires Way bridleway through Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire, past Threeshire Wood, to Grafham Water, finishing with a loop of roughly 12 miles around the reservoir. The marathon starts later from Yelden village hall and shares the closing section. Ground is mostly well-kept bridleway, fields and woodland, with little technical terrain. Both races finish at Marlow Park, Grafham Water, and paid coaches run from the finish to each start. The route is waymarked as a public bridleway and the organisers add markings where needed, but GPX files are provided. Mandatory kit includes 1 litre of water capacity, a foil blanket, a whistle and your own cup. Runners carry GPS trackers.
