What you’re in for
The same seventy-five kilometres of Windermere from Finsthwaite Hall, the other way round, in early May: 2,500m of climb, more than two thousand route-marking arrows, a GPS tracker, waterproof map and GPX in the entry, six food stations, a halfway bag drop and twenty-four hours. Runners and walkers together, with a meal and a medal at the finish. Clockwise means the eastern fells first and the Claife Heights woods for the finish.
Terrain and trail
Forest road and lakeshore path on the eastern side, grassy fell tops for the viewpoints, then woodland track and rocky path over Claife Heights and back to the lake. May is the drier of the two runnings, though the woods hold mud. Marked. A trail shoe with grip.

Heavily waymarked "from the head of each trail, road crossing, and at all trail junctions". A waterproof map is provided and a GPX comes with entry confirmation. The organiser says you do not need to be proficient in navigation to take part.
