VERY HARDAbout running in Lake District
The biggest fell running country in England: steep climbs, long runnable ridges and flat lake laps for the easy days, from Catbells to the Bob Graham legs.
Nowhere else in England gives you this much mountain in one place. Keswick, Ambleside, Grasmere and Staveley all make good bases, several with routes you can run straight from town. The fells make their own weather and it changes fast with height, so check the forecast for the summit, not the valley. The ground runs from good lakeside paths to exposed rocky ridges, so read the grade before you commit. Every route has a free GPX download and an honest TRP Grade.
