The course
What you’re in for
The last day of the MTC Severn Challenge, also run on its own. It covers 30 miles from the Travelodge near Stonehouse, joining the Severn Way to Purton and skirting Sharpness and the old Berkeley power station. The route then follows the estuary past Oldbury-on-Severn and under both Severn bridges to finish at Severn Beach. The course is almost flat, with one short climb, on riverside path, sea wall and fields. It is not marked, so use the GPX or directions. There are two checkpoints, at Sharpness and Oldbury, which close on a 4 mph basis. It is cup-free, so bring your own cup.
