What you’re in for
The last day of the MTC Thames Challenge, also run as a standalone race. It covers 33 miles from the Travelodge in Kingston past Richmond Lock and Kew, then under or past every central London bridge from Chiswick to Tower Bridge. The race finishes at the Thames Barrier. It is flat, firm riverside path for almost the whole way, but busy with people in central London. Runners switch banks at Wandsworth Bridge and again through the Greenwich foot tunnel, so carry the GPX or directions. There are two checkpoints, a 4 mph minimum pace and a finish cut-off just under 8 hours.
